POSITION INFO:

Field Operations Controller - Stellenbosch - R24,000 per month (Negotiable)  

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in agriculture (a Degree in Entomology / Crop Protection / Horticulture will be advantageous).
• 1-3 years’ experience in a management experience
• Computer literate (MS Office suite)
• Good planning and organizing skills.
• Good administrative skills.
• Writing reports and must be able to make presentations.
• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• The ability to multi-task.
• Adaptable with the ability to pay attention to finer details.

Responsibilities:

• Management and training of Area Coordinators
• Monitoring network planning and ensuring that monitoring is done correctly and accurately.
• Planning and coordinating air splashes and ensuring that they take place within the correct parameters (in consultation with the Manager.
• Weekly planning of variable control strategies and actions as well as ensuring that this is done.
• Coordination of releases of sterile insects from the ground or from the air.
• Management of monitoring database as well as weekly analysis of the data and writing reports regarding caught.
• Mapping of insect movements.
• Coordination of research initiatives.
• Liaison with producers regarding day-to-day matters.
• Additional tasks that contribute to the effective functioning of the organization.
