SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of agrochemicals is seeking the above to promote the Plant Health product portfolio as well as its strategic approach with regards to emerging farmers, by providing technical support and assistance with spray programs based primarily on in-house products in order to grow the current client base and increase sales and revenue.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a 4-year tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Plant Production or related
  • An AVCASA accreditation will be an added advantage
  • At least 5 years’ post-degree experience in the crop production and agrochemical industry is essential
  • Knowledge of Act 36 of 1947 and its supporting guidelines pertaining to crop remedies and fertilisers as well as other relevant regulatory Acts for agriculture would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of on-farm practices and equipment will be beneficial
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, have own reliable transport and be medically fit and willing to drive regularly
  • Knowledge of .NET and Syspro would be ideal

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing farmers with efficient technical support services that will ensure growth in their farming businesses.
  • Developing new markets and establishing the Plant Health in-house product range by promoting the use and sale of in-house products.
  • Evaluating competitor products to determine competitiveness of Plant Health in the market place.
  • Training emerging farmers on required skills and products.
  • Identifying market opportunities for the Company to evaluate, provide product information, pricing information and competitor activity.
  • Participating in Farmers’ Days, crop symposiums, meetings and conferences.
  • Playing a pivotal role in increasing revenue and profits of the business.
  • Investigating complaints on in-house products with regard to quality, phytotoxicity or any other complaints.
  • Ensuring total compliance and adherence to relevant SHEQ rules and regulations as per company policy

Salary package, including benefits, are highly negotiable depending on experience gained
