POSITION INFO:

A well-established company based in Johannesburg is looking to employ an experienced Network Engineer to join their organisation. Suitable candidates will need to meet the following duties and requirements.

Qualification:

Electronic engineering degree or equivalent
CISCO routing and switching
Experience with OLT and ONT configurations
Experience in the Fibre to the Home and Telecommunications field

Job description

Network setup and Maintenance
OLT Set-up and Maintenance as well as provisioning of clients and upgrading of clients` lines
General IT related work
Network troubleshooting
- End-to-end network troubleshooting involving all third parties such as Layer 2 providers, backhaul providers, Internet Service Providers
Investigation, troubleshooting and repair of network issues at client premises, including both software or hardware related problems
- Reporting to the office on:
- Investigations done on site
- Faults found and/or fixed
- Potential shortcomings of the network and solutions therefor
- Provisioning of clients
Quality control and reporting of on-site networks
Liaise with network partners with regard to troubleshooting and optimization of the network and network configurations
Ensure all network parameters are configured correctly in order for services to be delivered effectively to clients
Drafting a support and Network manual
