Farm Manager

Our client in the Citrus Farming industry is looking to employ a Farm Manager, based in Kirkwood. 

Requirements:

• Agricultural degree / diploma is highly advantageous but not a requirement.
• 5 + years’ experience in a supervisory position on farm.
• Citrus farming experience (lemons, oranges etc) – this is non-negotiable.
• Computer literate.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for the daily operational management, supervision and control of all farming processes, with the aim of achieving the agreed business objectives.
• Fertilizer program, application, stocks and timing.
• Chemical program, application, stock and timing.
• Yield estimates.
• Fruit harvest, timing, staff and equipment.
• Irrigation. Moisture control, scheduling, ordering of water and maintenance of equipment.
• H and S.
• Pruning plan and execution.
• Budgets.
• General farm operations, herbicide, bush cutting, road maintenance.
• Head count.
• All equipment and collaboration with maintenance department.
