Farm Manager

SUMMARY:
Opportunity available!! Our client in the FMCG sector is looking to employ a Farm Manager to join their team in Upington (Keimos area)

POSITION INFO:
Job Description: 

• Farm being in development for pecan trees.
• Manager having experience in this is advantageous 
• Must be handy with general farm duties and repairs. 
• Must have a driver''s license
• Live in Manager 
• Agricultural managers are responsible for the daily planning, organisation, supervision and administration of activities on farm estates.

Responsibilities include:

• Forward planning
• Handling paperwork and keeping administrative records
• Making sure that work progresses satisfactorily
• Ensuring compliance with government regulations and health and safety standards
• Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of pests and diseases
• Ensuring that the farm is profitable and meets projected financial targets
• Organising maintenance/repair of farm property, equipment and machinery
• Variations in workloads relate to seasonal demands – some unsociable hours may be necessary during busy periods (eg during harvesting ) and manager will be expected to deal with emergencies.
