POSITION INFO:

Our client, A leading Competitor in the FMCG (Dairy) industry is looking for a Factory Manager to join their team.


Duties and Responsibilities:

* Objectives driven by guiding objectives for FTQ as a whole, by the weaknesses and opportunities identified by the production and stores team, by objectives identified from personal P&D process, etc.
* Objectives documented are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis as status changes or new issues arise.
* Weekly production plan determined and captured and scheduled in Xperdyte as per Production Planning SOP.
* Manage a Weekly Planning meeting process involving all relevant parties (NPD, quality, Logistics etc) – effectively allow for non -production activities in the plan (meetings, training, maintenance etc.).
* The production plan makes optimum use of labour and equipment capacity while taking into account raw material availability constraints (Epping delivery days, ingredient pack sizes)and preparation constraints (eg sorting).
* Determine and document Production Planning Rules . Continually update these as relevant (able to be used by others/ backup planner).
* Ensure appropriate standards and rules are in place for all stages of the preparation and manufacturing process (sorting, preparation, cooking, cooling etc.) to ensure optimisation of all these constraints.
* Ensure backup planning capability is established (to cover leave, absenteeism etc).
* Work environment is maintained according to housekeeping operational standards and “5S” principles.
* Five S “models” are established to demonstrate standards and sustain 5S
* Red Tag schedules and registers are maintained.
* “5S” visual management techniques are applied to enhance housekeeping, make work easier and make waste and problems visible.
* 5S audits conducted by teams
* 5S training is conducted for new employees.
* COAS and other documents forwarded to Quality Department on receipt.
* Two point inspection on Readds done correctly and on time
* Impending “expired stock” or past “Use by “ date ingredients correctly managed
* Ingredients correctly stored for refrigeration and excess material correctly managed
* Preparation (thawing, freezing, decanting, etc) of ingredients is done as per standards

5 Years of Experience

Qualifications

* Diploma/Degree in Production Management or Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
* Management Diploma.
* Project Management Certificate or Training
* Full competence within this role would typically be developed over a period of 6 - 7 years (3 – 5 yrs within management)
