Factory Manager

SUMMARY:
A leader within the manufacturing industry seeks to employ a Factory Manager to join their successful team

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

• Matric
• Minimum Degree/Diploma in Industrial Engineering/Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Production/Business Management

 Requirements

• Experience in lean initiatives implementation and management
• Sound knowledge of industry-specific factory equipment/Technical expertise
• Sound knowledge of the occupational health and safety act and other legislation
• 5-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment of which 5 years must be in a managerial role
• FMCG production experience advantageous
• Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
• Previous experience using a business operating system or ERP within manufacturing and bill of material modules

 Duties

• Manage and control functions/ tasks associated with operations of the factory (Technical, Production and Inventory)
• Implementing procedures, systems and controls to achieve maximum production levels
• Evaluating and documenting details of the status, quality and standard of the manufactured goods produced
• Production planning/Operations
• Manage the technical department/plant and machinery to achieve maximum output
• Expenditure on technical resources to be managed
• Quality control
• Preparation and presentation of reports to assist in the process of decision making
• Formulate cost reduction programmes
• Stock control
• Prepare reports outlining production targets
• Achieve the objectives of the MRP system within ERP system
• Plan manufacturing activities, delivery schedules and purchasing
• Ensure Bills of Materials on the ERP system are maintained accurately
• Attend to all customer queries related to product quality and deviations
