A high-growth, highly dynamic group is looking to appoint a commercially sharp Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager to anchor their strategic analytics desk. Reporting straight into the Chief Financial Officer, this position is custom-built for an ambitious finance professional who excels at transforming complex operational metrics into forward-looking commercial strategies.
Operating as a strategic partner across multiple corporate entities, you will lead the annual budgeting framework, engineer dynamic scenario models, and evaluate structural profitability drivers. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Modeling & Predictive Planning: Direct annual budgeting cycles and rolling forecasts, building integrated multi-entity financial models from the ground up to evaluate strategic growth initiatives and risk scenarios.
- Performance Analytics & Variance Tracking: Execute deep-dive financial performance evaluations across business units, dissecting cost trends, gross margin drivers, and operational variances against baseline strategic targets.
- Commercial Due Diligence & M&A Support: Conduct thorough financial vetting on potential acquisition targets, new market entry strategies, and major capital expenditure programs to validate return-on-investment metrics.
- Margin Engineering & Cost Optimization: Partner with operational heads on strategic pricing structures, procurement cost-saving frameworks, and efficiency projects to boost bottom-line performance.
- Executive Dashboards & Board Reporting: Design and present polished executive-level management packs, visual dashboards, and performance summaries directly to the CFO and senior leadership committees.
Job Experience and Skills Required:- A completed CIMA qualification is strongly preferred; alternatively, a completed BCom degree in Finance/Accounting combined with completed SAICA or SAIPA articles.
- 2 to 3 years of dedicated commercial finance, financial analysis, or FP&A experience.
- Prior exposure operating within the manufacturing, heavy engineering, construction, or related operational sectors is highly advantageous. Practical familiarity with cloud accounting environments such as Xero or Zoho software is beneficial.
- Expert-level operational command of Microsoft Excel (advanced financial modeling skills are a non-negotiable requirement).
- Sharp commercial acumen, elite presentation confidence when interfacing with C-suite stakeholders, an uncompromising eye for numerical precision, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
