FOOD, FLAVOUR AND FRAGRANCE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT TECHNOLOGIST (Beverage / Sweet / Dairy / Confectionary)

Appointment: Permanent, full-time position

Areas: Midrand, Gauteng

Salary: R 25 000-00 – R 30 000-00 CTC per month

• Qualification required: BSc Food Science Degree / Honours
• FSSC 22000 (manage & maintain food safety) ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT
• HACCP - ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT
• ISO 22000 : 2005 (understanding ISO & Internal Auditing)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in R&D, specifically Beverage, Sweet, Dairy, Confectionery environment.
• A passionate and professional BSc Food Science graduate with at least 5 years experience. Interest in the food flavour sector.
• Research formulations of products required by clients & create finished products for clients consideration.
• Develop new product ideas & recipes
• Inspection and testing of samples
• Research legislation to ensure product compliance
• Sensory evaluation
• Food microbiology
• Food research
• Maintain technical documentation for products developed
• Provide technical support to clients
• Ensure products are completed and deadlines are met
• Comply with relevant safety, quality standards and regulations
• Be a team player with good communication skills
• Computer literate with good administration skills
• Honest, punctual, reliable person
• Benefits: Company offers a discretionary 13th cheque which may be payable in December and is based on performance of employee and company.  Company offers a Medical Fund with Discovery and Liberty Pension Fund. 15 days p/a (no leave as of Sept – Dec due to peak season). Company annual shutdown over festive period for +- 6 to 7 days.
