CAREER ROUTE TO FINANCIAL MANAGER

Superb career opportunity for B Comm: Accounting and completed Articles is being offered in a high-profile, prestigious R5billion plus FMCG Group.  Although the culture is somewhat laid back, the employees are highly motivated, extremely results-driven, go the extra mile, are detail-orientated, take ownership of their responsibilities, are loyal and dedicated.  This is the candidate’s personality profile that the Financial Director is seeking for this position.

This listed entity is continuously on an expansion path around South Africa and thereby requiring this entry-level position based at their Corporate Head Office.  The candidate will be mentored by and report directly to the Financial Director, noting that other Senior Management will also give the candidate direction and their expertise. The mandate is broad and the candidate will be involved in projects, supporting and assisting the Financial Director and the Commercial Manager as well as the various Financial Managers at the 15 Branches around SA.  In addition, as the Group is continuously on the acquisition trail, the candidate will be involved in supporting acquisitions by providing key basic financial information.  It is not expected that the candidate will have all the relevant experience and knowledge but will be trained and mentored over time with the view to be promoted into a Financial Manager role as have the previous candidates who have held this position.

The candidate will have a B Comm: Accounting and completed articles from a small to medium firm of Chartered Accountants, being trained in all aspects of accounting, auditing, statutory requirements and similar.  Strong Excel skills are required including pivot tables, V & H Look-Ups, sum-ifs and basic formulae.  In addition, the successful candidate will be self-driven, able to work independently, have a thirst to learn, be ambitious to grow, as well as having an abundance of common sense.
