FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT

POSITION INFO:

RedCat Recruitment is URGENTLY seeking a suitably qualified and experienced FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT for a well-established large concern, position based in the Durban area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Grade 12.

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet). Hands on experience and knowledge of accounting software packages.

Valid driver’s license / own reliable vehicle.

BCom Accounting Degree is essential.

Completed articles at a medium sized firm (essential).

3yrs+ post articles experience in a similar role in industry (retail / manufacturing or similar).

Excellent reconciling skills.

Review of cashbooks for the Group.

Preparation of weekly cashflows.

Preparation / review of journals.

Preparation / review of balance sheet reconciliations.

Compilation of monthly management accounts.

Preparation of audit packs for external auditors.

Assisting in preparation / review of AFS.

Preparation of annual budgets.

Preparation of tax comps and review of tax returns.

Reviewing and updating of systems description and SOP’s.

Reviewing of processes and making changes where necessary to improve efficiency.

Review of system generated transactions and reports.

Person must be willing to work every alternative Saturday.
