FARM MANAGER - 2IC

SUMMARY:

Pietermaritzburg Area – KZN:  Our client is looking for young, qualified, energetic and experienced candidate to work closely with him as a 2IC.  This would suit a candidate who is looking for a long-term commitment with our client, that would lead to the successful candidate overseeing all aspects of the farming operation in time

POSITION INFO:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Agricultural Degree and or business degree
• Skills and qualification in agronomy advantageous
• Min of 3 years previous management experience
• Proven financial acumen
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to speak Zulu highly advantageous
• Computer literate
• Knowledge and skill working with sugar cane / avocado / citrus and tea trees advantageous

Experience with:

• Setting and monitoring farm budgets
• HR oversight
• Managing Global Gap and SIZA compliance
• Managing sections managers
• Irrigation management
• Mechanical maintenance oversight
• Performance and productivity management
• Maintaining crop record systems and other
• Ability to lead from the front yet work well within a team
