External Sales Engineer

SUMMARY:
Manufacturing company seeking a Qualified (Deg./Dip) External Sales Engineer (New business development) with knowledge and experience in factory automation (specialisation measurement and Control technology). This individual will be expected to increase customer acquisition, service and support existing customers within the KZN area and be 100% capable of working independently.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor, Master Electro Mechanics or Electronics (specialisation measurement and control technology is an advantage), National Diploma or equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of the factory automation market and its competition based on previous relevant work experience in a technical sales position.
• Good knowledge of automation technology, PLC architecture, digital communication.
• Good knowledge of low voltage products and their applications.
• Must be willing to Hunt new business.
• Must be willing to travel within all boarders of KZN.
• Excellent communication/people skills.
• Computer literate.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities Include:

• Achieve the predetermined sales objective (regarding products, product groups, turnover, gross margin, new customer acquisition, etc…) within the defined sales area.
• Further expand contacts and service with existing customers with the intention to increase the sales potential, initially regarding the FA range, but also regarding the PA range.
• Searching for and visiting new clients (customer acquisition).
• Giving technical support and advice to clients and prospects concerning the product range.
• Offering solutions to clients for company products and their applications.
• Giving product presentations and product trainings to clients.
• Presenting quotations according to the internal guidelines regarding price setting and conditions.
• Introduction of new products in the given area.
• Follow-up of evolutions in the market and with competitors on a non-stop base regarding sales data, products, and applications.
• Regularly report market developments, sales expectations, market potential and results of market research.
• Budget definition and responsibility for allocated Accounts.
• Visit reporting in Siebel CRM Systems.
• Self-tuition regarding (new) products.
• Reporting and succession of opportunities in Siebel CRM Systems.
