Exports Shipping Controller

SUMMARY:
Exports Shipping Controller Internationally established Manufacturing Company based in the Northern Suburbs is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Shipping Controller.

POSITION INFO:

Requirements:

• Grade 12/National Senior Certificate.
• Applicable Tertiary Qualification.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience on SYSPRO will be ideal.
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet changing deadlines.
• Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Compiled areas of performance:

• Control, arrange and monitor the deliveries and shipments of containers.
• Controlling the loading schedule.
• Responsible for the correct handling of all container seals with shipment, and removal thereof.
• Controlling adhoc LCL / Courier Imports and Exports according to customs and client requirements.
• Negotiating rates with transporting and courier companies.
• Providing adhoc road freight, air freight, LCL and courier quotes.
• Determine and control picking list according to loading demand, and shipment schedule.
• Control and manage loading of all containers.
• Responsible for economical storage methods.
• Provide necessary documentation for MITTAL and SAISI concessions to Cost Clerk.
• Liaise with clients in regards to documentation/special requirements.
• Liaise with suppliers in regards to collection of cargo.
• Approving all courier/road transport invoices.
• Approving all export related documentation from agents.
• Control administration of pallet reports and the packing list.
• Monitor and control forklift drivers allocated to respective area.
• Carry out any other reasonable instruction from management.
