Exports Sales Manager – Market related salary – JHB (Edenvale)– Permanent – Immediate start – Open to all

POSITION INFO:

Our well-established client in Johannesburg is looking for an Export Sales Manager to join their team.

 

The purpose of this job is to manage sales of the company’s products within a defined geographic area or country. Ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment and management of sales personnel. Identifies objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings

 

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

Sales Consulting Duties:

  • Manage, maintain, promotes, sells and secures orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
  • Demonstrate products and services to existing/potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to their needs.
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the company’s products/services
  • Calls on regular and prospective clients to solicit orders.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.

 

Managerial Duties:

  • Manages an assigned geographic sales area or product line to maximize sales revenues and meet company objectives.
  • Provides quality leadership for the client’s internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding company values at all times: inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others.
  • Responsible for the Region’s forecasting and sales tracking.
  • Establishes and manages effective programs to coach, appraise and train sales personnel in a defined area.
  • Provides regular results assessments of sales staff’s productivity.
  • Responsible for achieving annual sales and profit objectives.
  • Assume territory management in an assigned geographic region.
  • Obtain new business and increase recurring sales though relationship selling.
  • Recommends product lines by identifying new product opportunities, and/or product, packaging, and service changes; surveying consumer needs and trends; tracking competitors.
  • Develop and maintain a full business pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Provide timely reporting of pipeline, account and territory management activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors and their presence in assigned territory.
  • Provide product expertise to fellow team members
  • Deals with agents
  •  Communicate with Factory Manager on special items
  • Liaise with Store Manager about prices for imported products and availability
  • Works with sales staff to ensures that quotes and plans are accurate regarding dimensions and quantity
  • Makes changes to quotes when required by clients
  • Prepares sales reports.
  • Oversee tender preparations and on time submissions.
  • Liaise with Factory Supervisors on special items
  • Oversee sales quotes
  • Liaise with clients telephonically
  • Provide product expertise to fellow team members
  • Perform duties within the code of conduct policy stipulated by the client.
  • Drafting of reports.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours when required, be available nights, weekends, holidays as required to meet department operational needs.
  • Undertakes such other duties as maybe required from time to time in order that the client may meet its objectives.

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Supervisory or management experience, preferably of a sales staff.
  • SAGE X3 ERP knowledge
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position.
  • Strong closing skills. Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus.
  • Excellent management, organizational and administrative skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information and utilize to position the features and benefits to customers.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications especially Excel.
  • Ability to foster a strong, cohesive team environment and work in a fast-paced, high performing work place where deadlines are critical and both internal and external customers are demanding
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
