Export Manager

SUMMARY:
My client, a Mining concern in the Gold mining sector is currently seeking an Import/ Export Manager to join their successful team of dynamic individuals

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for creating orders on Accpac and issuing to supplier, receiving goods into computer system and physically checking goods at warehouse. Consolidating received goods to a single load. Efficient packing of goods. Ordering of trucks and transport. Optimal loading onto truck. Performing basic clerical duties. Will supervise loads being collected from suppliers sites across the country

Responsibilities:

• Must be familiar with cross border shipping requirements Including packing, shipping, manifests and inspections
• Knowledge of Bureau Veritas inspections and tariff headings very advantageous
• Must have good computer skills
• A working knowledge of ACCPAC will be advantageous.
• Good problem solving skills required
• Negotiate truck schedules etc. to ensure timeous clearance and delivery
• Track shipments with clearing agents with regards to timelines, custom releases or detentions etc.
• Assist procurement with order placing
• Negotiate rates with export agents, shipping lines and road transporters for export: air, sea and over border
• Negotiate transport and delivery of shipments via the various modes of transport to our premises at the best rate to accommodate our specific schedules
• Develop lasting and strong relationships with all service providers

Requirements

• B-Tech or Sapics qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain or equivalent
• MINIMUM 3 years logistics experience in the shipping and freight industry
• Extensive freight logistics experience (road and sea - with emphasis on road and cross border freight)
• Solid experience in logistics document management (e.g. import, export, waybills, financial instruments, etc.)
• Solid off site project management experience in logistics
• Knowledge of all modes of transport regulations, compliance standards and INCOTERMS
