SUMMARY:
Executive / Business Manager required for reputable Client for the SADC Region responsible for the overall management of the operations and logistics, management and development of existing and new business and increasing profitability for the Client within the territory.  Telecommunications experience would be highly beneficial with a very hands-on approach to managing business and its growth.  Strategic acumen, customer relationships, sales, finance, market research - the role is all encompassing in terms of general management, responsible for all divisions within the territory.

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose / Scope of Position:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, successful and experienced Senior Executive to oversee our Client’s operations in one of the SADAC territories. The Executive will be responsible for the overall management of the operations and logistics, management and development of existing and new business and increasing profitability for the Client within the territory. They will act as a liaison between the Head office and the facilities in country and ensure that the organisation’s goals are being met and that the employees are meeting the standard that the Client requires. In addition to the liaison duties, the Executive will also perform general management duties including supervising staff, ensuring financial targets are met, maintaining and cultivating customer relationship, coordinating sales activities, overseeing market research, and developing strategies. Furthermore, the Executive must ensure that all local laws and regulations are being followed.  This would suit a passionate individual who enjoys client facing roles and the challenge of growing the business. It involves a high level of responsibility, self-motivation and a hands-on business approach / style.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the sale and distribution of product and build the Client’s brand in country.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the business operate smoothly within the framework of the country laws and regulations.
  • Liaise and communicate with head office, report on company progress, sales and marketing successes and act as the Client’s representative in country.
  • Coordinate, develop and oversee staff, projects and sales.
  • Develop goals and policies and establish standard operating procedures that are aligned with the organisations’ vision and mission.
  • Network effectively with local customers and develop strong professional relationships.
  • Generate and present reports regarding budgets, sales growth or declines, new business leads and regulatory compliance either weekly, monthly and on a quarterly basis.

 

Core Activities:

  • Manage every aspect of the operations in country.
  • Take responsibility for profit, revenue, cash and quality targets.
  • Agree annual budgets and produce detailed annual operating plan for the territory.
  • Recruit and manage staff, including performance monitoring, mentoring and training.
  • Conduct extensive research regarding the market and learn everything possible.
  • Ensure that you have complete knowledge and understanding of the full product range that is offered.
  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize on how best to offer product line in country.
  • Network effectively with local customers and build new customer base.
  • Work to ensure deadlines are met and budgets are maintained.
  • Adapt the business model to be culturally relevant without losing the Client’s identity.
  • Product reports on progress and business performance and development as and when required.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the company.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Must be educated to a degree level or equivalent, preferably with some financial qualifications or training – a solid understanding of budgeting and financial planning is essential as this role involves agreeing annual budgets and producing financial reports.
  • At least 5 years or more experience in a management position is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in telecommunication / cellular distribution sector that the Client operates within would be advantageous.
  • Experience working on an international scale as well as regional expertise would be advantageous.
  • Must be familiar with computer software programmes such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of how a business operates with a proven track record demonstrating their general business acumen.
  • Excellent networking skills and ability to deliver the highest standards of customer service.
  • Ability to recruit and manage staff and their performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A clean driving license.
