Estimator-Cost Controller

SUMMARY:
Estimator-Cost Controller with a qualification in Accounting or Finance would be advantageous. This individual will be expected to manage the estimating of materials and labour for project costing and taking responsibility for budget allocation and reporting. Exposure and experience within Fabrication would be ideal.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements:

• Qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Cost and Management Accounting background advantageous.
• +/- 5 years’ experience as an Estimator (Cost Controller).
• Experience in fabrication would be beneficial.
• Computer Literate: Excel, KEY360.
• Proficient in both Afrikaans and English (Read, speak, and write).

Responsibilities but not limited to:

• Estimating of materials and labour for project costing and taking responsibility for budget allocation and reporting.
• Estimating and cost controlling for all company projects required.
• Will the person to do the costing for fast moving products.
• Providing detailed equipment lists with mechanical, electrical, and size specifications, horsepower, quantity, and installation costs.
• Planning, developing, controlling, and forecasting of Projects. (Projects range from R5m to R150m)
• Repository of capital and operating costs from historical project databases, reference files and vendor quotes.
• Sensitivity analysis on capital and operating costs based on plant capacity, grade, and recovery to determine optimal size to maximize return.
• Economic modeling that includes mining, geotechnical, mineral processing plant, and infrastructure costs.
• Strong vendor relationships globally to obtain timely quotes that meet technical specifications and delivery lead-times.
• An extensive database of equipment and material prices based on years of proven project experience, to ensure your budgets are based on accurate data.
• A familiarity with local site operating costs including labour and supplies in various geographic markets, allowing you to account for regional differences.
• An understanding of the importance of including detailed power, water and permitting costs in the economic model for increased accuracy of the results.
