Estimation Assistant (contract position)

Our client in the Automotive industry is seeking an Estimation Assistant to join their company, based in Port Elizabeth/ Gqeberha. This is a contract position.

Requirements:

• Minimum of Matric (Mechanical or Electrical Qualification advantageous).
• Additional studies welcomed in the direction suited to this position.
• 2 years’ experience in Administration Work.
• Pro-active Work Ethic.
• Excellent Organizational Skills.
• Excellent Time Management Skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong Microsoft Excel Skills.
• Strong Microsoft Word skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Very good verbal and written communication skills.
• Technical knowledge would be advantageous.
• Experience in Project Costing would be advantageous.
• Experience in Conceptual Design (Mechanical and/or Electrical) would be advantageous.
• Some knowledge in the use of shipping and courier services would be advantageous.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Editing company Costing Sheets to correspond to client specific templates.
• Preparation and Formatting of Tender Documentation.
• Updating documents for New Tender Revisions.
• Obtaining Supplier Quotes.
• Estimating Freight Requirements.
• Obtaining Freight Quotes.
• Costing of Small Tenders.
• Manage Internal Project Folder Structures.
• Co-ordinate with out-of-town personnel to arrange site visits if required in order to tender.
• Comparing updated RFQ's to previous revisions to check for changed scope.
• Checking data accuracy in client Purchase Orders.
• Ad hoc tasks.
