POSITION INFO:

LOCATION       WATERKLOOF AND SURROUNDS (PRETORIA)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Liaising with clients to market properties in the most appropriate manner to maximise the selling value. Handling enquiries about properties from potential buyers. Valuing properties. Producing reports, brochures, promotional information, and other written material.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DEALING WITH POTENTIAL BUYERS:

• Communicated clearly with clients to identify their needs and budget and match to available properties.
• Qualifying the buyer, i.e., obtaining information about the buyer in order to introduce him to the ideal home.
• Showing selected properties to the buyer.
• Maintaining contact with the prospective buyer. 
• Assisting the buyer to make an offer.
• Travelling to properties and conducting viewings
• Scheduled walkthroughs of prospective properties and guided clients through each home''s features and value.
• Negotiated and managed sales contracts and answered all client questions.

DEALING WITH HOMEOWNERS:

• Discuss marketing plan in order to list properties online and in newsprint.
• Attend to “For Sale” boards.
• Provide sales support i.e.:
  • Assist with the completion of the for “Sale” documentation
  • Advice on which attorney to use
  • Advice on how the new buyer should perhaps find finance for the home

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

• No formal qualifications required
• Training will be provided

REMUNERATION:

• Commission based and very good earning potential

CHARACTERISTICS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Negotiation and selling skills
• Ambition, drive and charisma
• Good communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive relationship with clients and colleagues
• Strong organisation skills, as you may be dealing with more than one property at a time
• Willingness to take on responsibility, as estate agents will likely be afforded a great deal of responsibility early on
• Willingness to travel and spend time out of the office; a full driving licence is typically required
• Understanding of, and interest in, the local property market and the process of buying and selling property
