Environmental Officer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Mining Industry has an opportunity available for an Environmental Officer in the Burgersfort, Limpopo area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification is essential
• A relevant degree or diploma in Environmental Science/Management is essential
• 3 years of environmental management experience in mining or similar industry
• Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 is essential
• IsoMetrix (or similar system) experience would be an advantage
• A valid medical certificate or be medically fit to obtain such a certificate

KPAs:

• Ensure compliance to environmental legislation (NEMA, Water, Air, Land and Waste)
• Assist with environmental impact assessments (EIA’S)
• Communicate the environmental issues
• Ensure compliance to ISO14001 EMS requirements through inspections and assist with auditing
• Ensure the implementation of environmental improvements to a site, facility, operation, or process as defined by EMS
• Implement environmental procedures and site standards
• Administration of the environmental databases
• Monitor, measure, record and report the environmental statistics
• Assist with environmental performance reviews
