SUMMARY:
A leading mining house is currently looking for an Environmental Practitioner to join them on a 12 months contract - to be site based (Mpumalanga)
POSITION INFO:
JOB PURPOSE:
- To provide technical expertise in development and application of statutory and non-statutory environment authorisations across the company
MAJOR CHALLENGES:
- Gathering stakeholder support and understanding
- Keeping abreast with new legislation and best practice
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Certificate Mine Environmental Control (Essential/Minimum)
- BSC (Honors) Environmental Management (Essential /Minimum)
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3 years experience in Environmental Management (Essential/Minimum) - Management
- 6-8 years experience in Environmental Operations -Operational within the Mining Environment
Duties: Provide Technical advice & input into best practise models
Compliance & Governance and Assurance : participate in development and implementation of effective SHEC management systems
Scan environment for any legislative changes and impacts thereof on organization
Maintain good relationships with customers, respond to customer queries as per SLA''s
Provide Specialist input during development of group wide standards and procedures
Give input into strategies aimed at directing organisation on environmental issues
Assist in developing env. risk register, assessment and implementation plans
Position is suited to someone that is comfortable staying close to the mine (Kriel area)
