SUMMARY:
A private acute mental health facility situated in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, is seeking a professional Enrolled Nurse to join their multi-disciplinary team.

POSITION INFO:
The key responsibilities will include:

  • Nursing care of patients with psychiatric disorders 
  • Do psychiatric nursing evaluations and documentation thereof
  • Assist in maintaining a therapeutic and safe environment 
  • Counselling patients
  • Administer and evaluate side effects of medication
  • Giving health education to patient and family members
  • Monitoring vital signs and adhere to doctor''s orders
  • Conduct ECG as ordered by medical staff
  • Assist with any emergency procedures 
  • Ensure maintenance of stock, equipment and oxygen to facilitate any medical emergency 
Education & Skills:
Enrolled Nurse certificate & SANC registered
Must have minimum of 2 yrs current clinical nursing experience Previous or current nursing experience within a Psychiatric facility would be an advantage
Good knowledge and understanding of the SANC regulations/scope of practice for Enrolled Nurses  
Computer literate
Excellent communication skills in English (verbal & written)
Professional demeanor and conduct at all times
Ability to render efficient and high quality nursing care
