SUMMARY:
Our client in Centurion is seeking a Technical Coordinator/Operations Coordinator (Engineering field) to oversee the efficient, standardized execution of all operations and services. This key leadership role involves managing technicians, setting and enforcing technical standards, driving strategic projects, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and also collaborating cross-functionally to meet overarching business goals. The successful candidate will be accountable for technical leadership, operational oversight, financial management, team development, and the strategic direction of all technical functions.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities
- âLead and manage technicians, providing direct service and support to external customers.
- âAddress machine diagnosis results in the most accurate and cost-effective remedy for faults. (Not going to work on the machines but need to be able to handle the coordination of the problem-solving and solutions).
- âDevelop, implement, and maintain a standardized technical training strategy to ensure all technicians meet required Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- âEstablish and standardize an effective maintenance program for all contract equipment.
- âOversee and maintain the complete library of machine service and parts manuals.
- âCompile and present comprehensive technical reports on equipment performance to clients at regular intervals.
- âAnalyze and report on all internal and external warranty claims submitted.
- âMonitor and control the budget and spending of all subcontracted technical work.
- âPrepare, manage, and plan annual budgets for all national workshops and technical functions.
- âEnsure strict adherence to all Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) requirements.
- âFacilitate weekly national meetings with department managers to ensure alignment and operational consistency.
- âTravel as required to branch locations and client sites. (Only when needed to).
- âMaintain complete and accurate documentation as part of the company's standardized service routine.
- Compile and review financial quotes for repetitive technical work.
Experience & Qualifications- âDegree, Diploma or Certificate in Project Management, Business Management or any Technical field, with an interest in Technical and Engineering. NQF Level 5 or higher Management qualification.
- Experience in people management / managing a technical team.
- âExperience in developing and delivering technical training to staff will be an advantage.
- âDemonstrated ability to plan, organise, coordinate and lead a large technical team (very important).
- âExceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and stakeholders at all levels and clearly communicate and transfer complex technical knowledge.
- ââProficiency in the Google Workspace (G Suite) environment will be an advantage. (3D)
- âExperience in Data Management. (Intermediate level).
- âKnowledge of data logging and technical reporting processes.
