POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
ØPlanning of capital and maintenance projects, which include the gathering of information related to the required capacity of machinery, the design of projects, cost estimation and implementation of the projects;
ØProject management, which includes the execution of projects, coordination of optimal utilization of resources, site testing, quality and cost management;
ØProductive management through coordination of all operations, job cards, time and log sheets and personnel management;
ØAssisting with the drafting of income and expense budgets and the management thereof;
ØAsset management and the updating of the asset register;
ØApplication of the Occupational Health and Safety Act regarding machinery, personnel and keeping and updating of relevant registers; and
ØThe overall performance of the division.
Requirements / Qualifications:
ØThe suitable candidate must be in possession of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with an academic qualification of at least a T3 (S3) or N5 level and have completed the examination on the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations.
ØThe candidate must have at least (8) eight years'' post graduate and relevant practical experience in the operation and maintenance appropriate to the class of machinery that is required to supervise, of which should be (5) five years on a supervisory and management level.
ØExperience in obtaining the Government Competency Certificate, knowledge of SABS codes and knowledge and experience in the Occupational Health and Safety Act is further requirements.
