Emergency room Doctor required in the Cayman Island

POSITION INFO:

The Emergency Room is the premier emergency care provider for the Cayman Islands.  It manages all adult and paediatric emergencies including cardiac, trauma, medical, and surgical patients  Patient volumes average 30,000 per year. 

The Emergency Room Physician provides Emergency and Urgent Clinical care for patients in the Accident and & Emergency Department.

The successful applicant is responsible for providing Accident and Emergency medical coverage and urgent care in conjunction with other physicians on a shift basis.

This includes resuscitation, performing minor surgical and orthopaedic procedures in the stabilizing of medical, surgical, orthopaedics, ENT, ophthalmological, gynaecological, paediatrics and psychiatric emergencies. 

Post holder arranges appropriate investigations, treatment and admission of patients as well as major emergency referrals. 

Provides support and supervision for senior, junior and EMS staff. 

Nationalities, Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant must have a Medical Degree and post graduate qualification in Emergency Medicine of 5 years’ experience post-specialisation.

ACLS, ATLS or PALS certification preferred.

For licensing, candidates must be registered in the following jurisdictions to be eligible to practice in the Cayman Islands; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand and/or Australia.
