SUMMARY:
Embedded Test Engineer keen to work on a greenfield testing project needed for a remote company in Scotland.
POSITION INFO:
Medical technology company in Edinburgh (remote) looking for an Embedded Software Tester.
The company create wearable technology that can save lives and reduce the pressure on hospital admission across the world and make in home care more accessible. Even in the sample stage their product has saved lives and flagged up unknown health conditions!
Based in Edinburgh, but working fully remotely, the small team are looking to grow rapidly. Part of this involves bringing on board a dedicated Test Engineer (that''s you!), who can focus on building the firmware and software testing function. As they plan to scale their product (mobile applications and hardware devices) rapidly, they would like you to lead with an automation-first strategy. This is a greenfield project for you to get involved in and develop the testing as you see fit!
You''ll have experience across both software and firmware testing, and initially will focus on building regression test packs and creating the automation test framework from scratch, before rounding out the testing function more fully. Ideally you will have experience with Jenkins, and Robot framework, however having some solid experience in automated testing is far more important.
You''ll have most of the following skills/experience:
**Software testing - automation
**Firmware/embedded software testing - automation
**Experience with medical devices and/or ISO standards would be a bonus
**Creating an automation test framework from scratch
**Regression testing
**Unit testing for embedded firmware
**Oscilloscopes, multi-metres etc.
**Matlab or Labview would be a bonus!
The team are working fully remote, so there is no expectation to come into the office at any point. They want to double the technical team size in the near future (and likely again not long after that), so there is ample room to grow and develop with a company only just at the start of its journey.
The founders are also technical folk (they created the technology!), so understand realistically what''s achievable and in what timeframe - rather than promising the moon to clients and leaving you to scramble around!
Salary-wise they can offer up to £40,000 - £50,000, but can be flexible for the right person, plus benefits.
If the chance to get involved in a smaller company at a key stage of their growth, and have real impact by saving lives sounds of interest, please do reach out to Erin at Cathcart Associates.
