SUMMARY:
Do you love working close to the hardware? Are you passionate about writing clean, efficient embedded code and collaborating in high-performance teams? My client is hiring a skilled Embedded Software Engineer, where you’ll play a key role in designing and developing embedded systems for real-time operating environments. You'll work on firmware, drivers, and systems integration, all while collaborating closely with peers and contributing to a quality-driven development process.

POSITION INFO:
ð Embedded Software Engineer
ð Cape Town, Fully In-Office
ð 3+ Years’ Experience
ð¼ Full-time

ð ï¸ What You’ll Be Doing:

Develop embedded software using C/C++ (non-negotiable)
Integrate your code with real hardware for real-world testing and application
Participate in peer code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability (non-negotiable)
Support and contribute to the code certification process (DO-178) (advantageous)
Collaborate in an Agile team and actively participate in sprints and planning sessions
Work within a Continuous Integration (CI) environment (advantageous)

ð¯ What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Requirements:
- A Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software development
- Proven experience in:
  - C/C++ for embedded systems (non-negotiable)
  - Peer code reviews as part of a structured development process (non-negotiable)
Nice-to-Have:
- Exposure to DO-178 certification processes
- Familiarity with CI tools and automated build/test workflows
