Electronics Design Engineer

POSITION INFO:

You will be responsible to take a hands-on approach and be involved in detailed design and review process

Working together with stakeholders to understand requirements, specifications, standards and project structure

Working with project team to create and develop an implementation strategy

Developing and maintaining engineering best-practices, design guidelines, processes and checklists for Hardware design

Designing of certification strategies that drive product design

Responsible for coordinating product RF, EMC, Safety and hazardous atmosphere certification and pre-compliance assessments

Liaising with product quality assurance

Designing of hardware test automation

Skills & Experience:  

Must have a strong work ethic and be driven

Ideally must have experience working in an electronic product design role

Embedded C programming experience

Electromagnetic compatibility design

Must have a sound understanding of laboratory equipment such as spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, power meters

Must be proactive and take initiative

Ability to work well independently and part of a team

RF electronics design experience is advantageous

Experience with RF and EMC certification is preferred

Experience with Altium Designer is preferred

Version control – GIT

Product safety certification experience is highly advantageous (IEC 61010-1, IEC 60950-1 or IEC 62368-1)

Intrinsically safe product certification experience is advantageous (IEC 60079-11)

Must be well organized and detail oriented

Present excellent verbal and written communication skills

Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in an electronic product design role

Qualification: 

BEng / BSc Electronic Engineering

MSc Electronic Engineering is advantageous
