Electronic Engineer

SUMMARY:
One of my clients based in Gauteng is looking for an Electronic Design Engineer to design all electronic boards for products to meet the form, fit, and function while maintaining manufacturability and minimizing costs.

POSITION INFO:

Job & Company Description:

• Design simple yet effective and innovative solutions for complex problems;
• Design electronic circuit boards and systems for products and test equipment using CAD;
• Collaborate with the development team and quality management to ensure designs are feasible and meet the required standards set by customers;
• Test and verify that all designs work according to defined specifications;
• Select the optimal components and manufacturing processes;
• Ensure that all outputs in terms of BOM’s, drawings, CAM files etc. are correctly produced
• Follow all procedures and processes as required by the quality management system;
• Ensure that designs are certified where necessary;
• Collaborate closely with the Industrial and Mechanical designers on aesthetics of the final products;
• Develop and build prototypes to test and measure form, fit and function;
• Record and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to performance and efficiency standards;
• Maintain document revision control at all times;
• Collaborate with Procurement and Finance for component cost estimates and costing of the final product;
• Arrange and conduct regular project update meetings with the Managing Director;
• Interact with Engineering and Production to understand difficulties experienced during manufacturing;
• Compliance with the Quality Management System;
• Compliance with Safety, Health & Environmental policies.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering;

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electronic design;
• In-depth knowledge of Eagle CAD, Fusion 360, and/or other electrical and mechanical CAD software;
• Experience in aerospace or other standards and process-driven industries;
• Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems;
• Impeccable attention to detail;
• Ability to plan, schedule, collaborate and problem-solve effectively;
• Preference will be given to EE candidates
