Our client is looking for a Electrician to join their maintenance team.

DUTIES INCLUDES:

  • Establish possible causes of breakdowns through troubleshooting
  • Identify the root cause of the failure and implement corrective actions.
  • Dismantle defective electrical and mechanical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble
  • equipment, using tools.
  • Install new equipment when needed.
  • Execute electrical, pneumatic and mechanical repairs.
  • Do basic fault-finding on Freon refrigeration plants.
  • Do basic fault-finding on PLC’s.
  • Maintenance of gearboxes, couplings and bearings.
  • Basic knowledge of welding.
  • Knowledge of V-belt and chain power transmissions and alignment of pulleys, sprockets, shafts and
  • couplings including maintenance of these power transmissions systems.
  • Carry out inspections on running machinery and equipment under safe conditions.
  • Advises the Maintenance Manager on all matters regarding safety of plant, machinery, equipment and
  • implements measures to ensure that people are properly protected.
  • Measure, cut and using levelling instruments and hand tools.
  • Performing skilled and unskilled labouring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a
  • wide variety of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Requisition materials, using warehouse requisition or release forms.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance in conjunction with production planning.
  • Ensure machinery safe to work on during breakdowns maintenance by using the lock out procedure.
  • Ensure that all breakdown and planned maintenance job cards been handed in the specified time given.
  • Maintenance of air compressors (piston and screw compressors)

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant trade test (Red seal).
  • Trade theory minimum N3 and 5 years practical experience with wire mans license
  • Experience in the food manufacturing
  • Must be able to work unsupervised.
  • Must be willing to work overtime at short notice.
  • Must be willing to do standby when needed
  • Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms, legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking and handling of materials.
  • Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships – developing constructive cooperative working relationships with co- workers and maintaining them.
  • Updating and using relevant knowledge – keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job and be willing to on site and off site training.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or material to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment by servicing, repairing, calibrating or testing devices/machines.
  • Organizing, planning and prioritizing work to developing specific goals and plans to accomplish your work.
  • Experience in chain conveyors, V-belts, chain drives and general mechanical repairs.
  • Good knowledge of electrical controls systems.
  • Basic knowledge of Freon and ammonia refrigeration plants
  • Must be able to read pneumatically and electrical drawings.
  • Work to safety and to ISO standards.
  • Sound understanding and application of food manufacturing processes.
  • Must have own transport (code 08 license)
