SUMMARY:
Electricians (x2), Technical Textile Manufacturing Industry, Durban, KZN (R25K -R30K pm)

POSITION INFO:

Our Client, a well-established and highly prestigious South African Manufacturer in the technical textiles industry is seeking to URGENTLY appoint two (2) dynamic Electricians to be based in their Pinetown, Durban Engineering Workshop Operations.

MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE:

• Report directly into the Factory Engineer
• Increase machine availability for production by maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery in the factories.
• Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
• Manage Charge hands associates’ performance.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Min N4 qualification ESSENTIAL
• Successful completion of an Electrical trade test ESSENTIAL.
• This qualification could have been obtained through either a formal apprenticeship or Section 28 of the Manpower Training Act.
• Must have completed min of 4 years as a trade tested Electrician PLC experience (Siemens, Omron)
• Wireman’s licence (advantage)
• Technical knowledge of the control panels, drives, motors and sensors

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide efficient electrician support service
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers or other components
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters and test lamps
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair
• Ensure compliance with codes, OHSACT and All relevant local and international codes and best practices.
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Willing to work overtime when necessary and standby rota system.
• Must have own transport.
