Electrical Engineer

POSITION INFO:

Responsible for Design and specification of Medium/Low voltage infrastructure and street lighting networks

Work on low cost, informal and private housing developments

MV/LV and street lighting infrastructure

Power transformers, protection and control systems

Design of overhead and underground electrical reticulation systems

Bill of Quantities

Financial management of construction contracts

Quality management on projects

Develop and maintain relationships with clients, local electricity authorities and the general industry

Skills & Experience:

Must have experience working on MV or LV infrastructure and street lighting projects

Experience in designing of overhead and underground electrical reticulation systems

Must be proficient in ReticMaster or similar design software

Must be computer literate (Excel, word, outlook, etc)

Attention to detail

Construction monitoring experience

Project management experience is essential

Experience in design, specification and selection power transformers and associated protection and control systems

Experience with sizing of conductors/cables, transformers, diversity, load level and voltage calculations

Experience working on township development or Rural Electrification projects is essential

Must have 5 – 10 years relevant experience

Qualification:

BSc / BEng / BTech Electrical Engineering

Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
