SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Design Engineer you will be required to provide engineering support services to contribute to the achievement of operational targets, whilst striving for optimal availability and safety.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

Grade 12.
N6 in Electrical Engineering (NQF 6)
BSc in Electrical Engineering (NQF 7)-Advantageous
Up to 3 years’ experience in Drawings/Design within the manufacturing sector
Understanding/interpretation of Electrical drawings as well as electrical installations
Knowledge of relevant Production Processes
Computer Literacy (MS Office Suite and applicable discipline-specific software programs)
Communication skills (both verbal and written)

Key Result Areas

Drafting of new electrical drawings
Plc programming using relevant software
Tracking and updating of any changes to electrical drawings as required
Conducts studies to determine best practice/design and future trends
Prepares detailed presentations for Senior Design Engineer to review
Initiates continuous improvement initiatives and cost-saving opportunities
Drives and oversees project design from start to implementation phase
Evaluates and completes projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and budget
Identifies and monitors risks within own department and area of responsibility.
Assists in the maintenance of a risk register, report discrepancies or areas of
Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and policy frameworks
Contributes to the budget preparation process
Monitors and controls expenditure against budget and ensures spending within a budget
Explores opportunities to control and reduce costs
Maintains effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external)
Represents the company in meetings with relevant stakeholders
Reports to Management on internal stakeholder related matters
