SUMMARY:
A Financial Institution in the centre of Pretoria has a CONTRACT position available for a Senior ETL Developer. Please note this is a full time contract ie 8 hours a day
POSITION INFO:
A Degree in Computer Science/Information Systems. Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent
OBIEE Certified
ODI Certification
A minimum of five years’ experience in Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) development environment using the Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
Experience pulling data from a variety of data source types
Must have 5 year working experience with OBIEE, BI Publisher
Must have experience in the Kimball methodology
Experience with OLAP Cubes
Must be proficient in SQL, PL/SQL and MDX
Knowledge of BI methodologies such as Kimball and Inmon
Dimensional data modelling experience
Experience in working with multi-dimensional cubes
Project development exposure (waterfall and/or agile methodologies) Advantageous:
Proficient in at least one other BI toolset (Qlikview, SAS, PowerBI, Microstrategy, BusinessObjects, Tableau, Cognos, OBIEE)
Essbase experience would be advantageous
Working knowledge on Qlikview, SAS
Working knowledge on Oracle Apex
Experience of working in an agile development environment. Disciplined Agile Development (DAD) experience will be an added advantage
Participate in the interpretation of business requirements and functional specifications as provided by the business analyst into BI solution designs to implement all ETL procedures for all new projects
Development of the Extract Transfer and Load (ETL) function using appropriate technology toolsets to get data into a data warehouse or data mart according to design
Design and development of the Data Warehouses batch management control processes and error handling
Application of appropriate Data Quality tools and techniques to ensure that consistent and quality data is provided to the data warehouse
Assist with the design of the star-schemas and/or cubes for consumption by the Oracle BI
Design and develop reports, graphs, analytics, KPIs on the desktop and mobile platforms for analysis purposes in line with the business requirements
Prepare key documentation to support the technical design in technical (System Design/Requirement Specification, Source specification and test documentation)
Assist in establishing accurate project timelines and development methodology
Be able to take high-level tasks and break them into detailed actions and tasks to be completed
Provide input to the overall project planning process by assisting in establishing accurate project timelines actions required and realistic timeframes for completion of those tasks and actions
Participate in workshops with business owners and stakeholders in respect of clarification of detailed requirements and solutions to those requirements
Deliver allocated project tasks and actions according to agreed quality and timeframes
Author and execute unit tests on all processes and prepare required programs and scripts
Ensure that detailed tasks and actions are allocated and completed to limit and mitigate risk within the allocated projects
Develop training manuals, training plans and presenting training courses to support new solution implementations
Staying abreast of changes to analytical tools and methodologies
Ability to learn and implement new and different techniques
