EE Logistics and Warehousing Supervisor (steel/roofing)- Polokwane

SUMMARY:
This role is a combination between Logistics Management and Stock Controller

POSITION INFO:

Main purpose of job:

To efficiently and effectively coordinate, plan and control all transport & despatch activities to meet expected delivery norms and to exceed customer delivery expectations, whilst ensuring risk management of finished goods and company assets, ultimately assisting in achieving company profitability & objectives, and in line with acceptable corporate governance standards. To provide an outstanding service and control the company''''''''s stores and dispatch area to ensure that all buyouts, consumables, fasteners and other stock are available as required and dispatch timeously.

 

Main responsibilities

• Direct and control despatch & transport staff to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities effectively and provide a high quality service to customers.
• Customers to resolve any problems and improve service levels and efficiency.
• Maintain harmonious employee relations and ensure that all staff are appropriately trained and motivated.
• Develop all necessary systems and procedures to ensure that the highest standards safety is maintained and that all transport ordinance and statutory requirements are met.
• Provide advice to managers and staff on all transport related issues.
• Coordination and control of all documentation and delivery processes
• Complying with established controls and authority levels in the scope of the function.
• Ensuring accurate attention to detail and accuracy in the use of Navision and in the scope of function
• Attendance in and participation of stock takes, conference attendance and training sessions as required
• Any other duties and tasks as assigned by management from time to time.
• Monitor and maintain adequate supplies of stock items and materials to meet production / delivery /customer requirements.
• Issue stocks, materials and equipment (Saflok notching tools) from stores as required.
• Receive stocks of screws, clips and materials, ensuring that these are correct in terms of number and specification on the delivery notes.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all stock movements to ensure that optimum stock levels are maintained.
• Report low stock items to the Buyer to ensure that the optimum levels of required stocks, materials and equipment are maintained.
• Maintain a tidy, safe and efficient stores environment.
• Maintain contact with relevant departments to ensure that stock items and stock levels are appropriate to their requirements.
• Assist in Debriefing drivers (PPE/ truck condition / material damages & SRT’s)
• Control of picking slips and Delivery Notes
• Assist in control of submission of fuel slips & travel claims
• General Housekeeping pertaining to dispatch and dispatch assets

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Matric ;
• 2-3 years in a medium to large service orientated organization
• MS Office with Navision as an added advantage
• Risk management
• Strong admin skills

• Extreme accuracy in processing function
• Excellent organizational skills
• Thorough knowledge of all products, logistics
