SUMMARY:
Job Title: E-Commerce Manager (Takealot Exposure)
Location:  Midrand in Johannesburg
Remuneration: Negotiable depending on qualification and work experience

Our client is looking for a commercially driven and analytical E-Commerce Manager for their team in Midrand to lead and grow our online sales channels.
 
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing marketplace performance, optimising product listings, coordinating promotional campaigns, analysing sales trends,
and ensuring an exceptional customer experience across online platforms.
 
The successful candidate will play a key role in growing the online presence and sales performance while working closely with Marketing, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, and Aftersales teams.


Required qualification and working knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an E-Commerce, Marketplace, Online Sales, or Digital Commerce role.
• Proven experience managing Takealot or similar online marketplace platforms.
• Strong understanding of online sales, pricing, promotions, and marketplace operations.
• Experience analysing sales data and preparing management reports.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within the ICT, Networking, Consumer Electronics, Technology, or Distribution sectors.
• Experience with Takealot Seller Portal.
• Exposure to online advertising and marketplace marketing tools.
• Experience working with inventory forecasting and stock planning.
• Knowledge of networking, smart home, surveillance, or consumer technology products.

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities:
E-Commerce & Marketplace Management

• Manage and optimise the companies online sales channels, including Takealot and future marketplace platforms.
• Ensure all product listings are accurate, complete, and maintained to the highest standard.
• Monitor marketplace compliance and listing performance.
• Coordinate new product launches across online channels.

• Drive online sales growth and profitability.
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance.
• Identify opportunities to increase revenue and market share.
• Develop and implement online sales strategies.

• Manage pricing strategies in line with company objectives.
• Monitor competitor pricing and market trends.
• Coordinate online promotions, campaigns, and special offers.
• Evaluate campaign effectiveness and return on investment.

• Monitor stock availability across online channels.
• Coordinate with Warehouse and Procurement teams to minimise stock shortages.
• Forecast stock requirements based on sales trends.
• Identify slow-moving inventory and recommend promotional opportunities.

• Monitor customer reviews, ratings, and feedback.
• Analyse return trends and customer complaints.
• Work closely with the Aftersales and RMA teams to identify recurring product issues.
• Recommend improvements to product listings and customer experience.

• Prepare regular sales and performance reports.
• Analyse online sales data and customer behaviour.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Present recommendations and growth opportunities to management.

• Work closely with Marketing on content, campaigns, and product launches.
• Support Sales teams with online channel opportunities.
• Liaise with Warehouse and Operations regarding stock planning and fulfilment.
• Assist Finance with reporting and reconciliation requirements where necessary.
