The Geochemistry business provides analytical services to all aspects of the minerals industry, including Exploration support, Laboratory analysis, Commercial Transaction Support, Environmental Analysis and Industry Standard Practices and Quality.
SGS is looking for a Driver who will be responsible to provide a reliable and courteous transportation service with safety as a top priority at the SGS Chemical Vaal River Laboratory.
The ideal candidate for this position will be a person who works well under pressure, who is professional, flexible and willing to work overtime and who has a clear criminal record. You will have good knowledge of the Gauteng/North West/Free State region and the ability to read maps/GPS.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head: Administration & Liaison, you in the role, are expected to:
- Perform various tasks relating to the transportation of goods.
- Perform deliveries and/or collections as and when required.
- Operate and maintain records
- Adhere to all quality and safety requirements of the SGS management system.
- Ensure cleanliness of company vehicles.
Qualification and Experience
- Matric (Grade 12) – with Mathematics and Science as subjects
- Valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit)
- Valid Code 10 Driver’s License
- Minimum of 3 years driving experience preferably within the mining industry
- English fluent. Any other language an asset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities
