SUMMARY:
Company based in Silvertondale Pretoria is looking for a skilled Draughtsman to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

Design
- Execution of design tasks within the parameters and interfaces set by the Chief Designer or Senior Design Engineer
- Prepare Solid Models of components; sub-assemblies and assemblies, using the business file structure guidelines and number protocol
- Sit with the mechanical/electrical designers to ensure cable routings and integration is possible
Draughting
- Prepare detail layout and manufacturing drawings of components and assemblies
- Responsible for the technical integrity of the design drawings
Test and Evaluation
- Assist during the building and testing of prototypes, ensuring that closed loop feedback can take place during the design process
Project Management
- Ensure that projects are executed according to the time and budget targets, set by the Design team leader
Support
- Communicate with manufacturing, to ensure the flow of technical information during prototyping and production are up to acceptable standards
- Assist ILS with repair, maintenance and other information required
- Production support, capturing of red-line drawings during the building and prototype phase
Technology
- Keep up to date with new trends in the automotive and military field, by reading technical papers and documents, as supplied

Experience & Qualifications:

Previous experience in the military vehicle environment would be greatly advantageous.
2 – 6 years drafting experience in an Automotive field
Minimum of professional drafting credentials or equivalent certification
Other relevant certificates will be advantageous

Software Capability:

OnShape or Solidworks preferred or relevant CAD package.
Siemens Teamcentre 11 or relevant PDM system
Microsoft Office.

Other Requirements:

A team player who is willing to assist the team on various aspects of the project, if required.
Innovative thinker.
Ability to rapidly adapt to a changing environment and requirements.
Passionate, self-driven individual.
