Digital/DTP Operator
POSITION INFO:
A leading Printing and Labels Group based in Germiston are looking to employ an experienced DTP Operator.
Diploma in printing technology DTP, graphic design, or a related field.
In desktop publishing (DTP), or relevant software (like Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Free hand).
Experience 5 years & more hands-on experience in Flexographic printing & or
operating digital printing machines. Experience in managing or leading a team in a design department or printing Experience working as a DTP operator, handling print layouts, typesetting. Experience in pre-press and post-press operations. Knowledge Familiarity with ISO printing standards or colour management systems. Ability to ensure consistency in
Knowledge of safety procedures for operating machinery and handling chemicals or printing materials. Manage quality and colour across different print runs. Understanding of prepress and post press processes (finishing, etc.).
Proficiency in operating digital printing machines. Strong knowledge of DTP software like Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and CorelDRAW. Understanding
of colour theory, typesetting, and layout design. Knowledge of calibration, maintenance,
and troubleshooting of digital printing equipment. Familiarity with RIP (Raster Image Processor) software for printing workflow. Understanding of various printing materials (paper types, finishes) and production requirements. Strong team abilities. Ability to
smooth workflow. Experience in scheduling jobs and managing deadlines in a fast-paced
production environment. Good understanding of inventory management for printing materials and supplies. skills Strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Problem-solving skills to address printing issues, equipment malfunctions, or
design inconsistencies. Time management skills to ensure projects are completed
efficiently. Set up and maintenance machine including adjusting settings for
