Digital Marketing Expert

POSITION INFO:

As a Digital Marketing & E-Commerce Specialist at (PVT Company), you will get to do more than just monitor sales of a product. You will work cross-departmentally & cross entity to optimize Digital Marketing & eCommerce strategies and analyse where there is room for improvement.
The role is to design, create, and deliver marketing programs to support expansion and growth of the company services and products. This role requires an in depth knowledge of retail & brands and associated products and market goals. Proficiency in web advertising, social media, email marketing and web development is a must. Familiarity with a wide range of field practices, concepts, and procedures. Marketing specialists rely on judgment in planning and experience to accomplish identified goals.
More specifically, you’ll get to:

  • Developing, managing and designing layouts of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, research papers, and brochures.
  • Planning, development and execution of national digital programs and campaigns, including online advertising, web site strategy and design, social media, mobile, and deliverables.
  • Interfacing with marketing communications functions, as well as PR, events, retail and business product marketing teams.
  • Leading ongoing management of digital touch points of various websites (home page and top level sections), social networking landing pages, and mobile.
  • Managing digital agency relationships, day-to-day production, as well as campaign budgets and schedules. Developing and coordinating multimedia packages.
  • Owning and maintaining site analytics, metrics, and campaign reporting. In depth knowledge of SEO and adwords programs. Presenting recommendations to Director of Marketing and Communications.
  • Oversee & monitor product content contained on eCommerce websites/portals.
  • Develop subject matter expertise in assigned product categories and take ownership of daily business administration on assigned accounts.
  • Cultivate standards, systems and best practices for content creation, distribution, maintenance, and new product listings.
  • Work with product management, sales, graphics, and other relevant departments to provide updated content for assigned accounts to be shared across eCommerce platforms.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of account-specific SEO best practices, pricing policies, media assets, inventory and/or pre-orders.
  • Multi-task, prioritize and successfully meet several deadlines at once while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the eCommerce space including competitive strategies, marketing strategies, product development, consumer research, usability best practices, and industry trends.
  • Use Spreadsheets or Excel (pivot tables, vlookups etc) in addition to web analytics to stay organized and monitor changes in product sales and identify opportunities for improvement.

Core Competency Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing and digital production. 
  • Excellent client facing and soft skills
  • Excellent understanding of brand development and execution
  • Proven experience delivering effective and innovative digital campaigns. 
  • Proven experience delivering a variety of digital assets, including rich media online ads, micro sites, and social media applications.
  • Experience managing successful social media campaigns, and a solid understanding of social marketing.
  • Solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyse and interpret data.
  • Must be able to work under constant deadline pressure and manage multiple projects across multiple lines of business.
  • Strong management skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience delivering digital campaigns for mainstream products and services.

Requirements:
  • 5+ year plus work experience in this field
  • 5+ year plus Agency experience 
  • Degree in Digital Marketing/Branding and/or Master’s in Business 
  • Area of work: Cape Town
