Knowledge and Experience:
• 2+ years’ experience in Diesel Mechanics
• Valid Driving Licence
• Knowledge of Healthy and Safety Legislation
• Knowledge of Petrol and Diesel Operating Vehicles and Trucks
• Knowledge on Hydraulics
• Qualifications: Diesel Mechanic Qualification
MAIN PURPOSE:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles. Duties include running diagnostic tests on vehicles, test driving vehicles to gauge performance and maintaining detailed records of the vehicles they have serviced.

Key Performance Areas:
• Maintaining service schedules of vehicles, trucks, and equipment
• Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Guide, support, train and advise staff reporting to you.
• Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion; completing winterization procedures.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems
• Contains costs by using warranty, evaluating service and parts options.
