Diesel Mechanic - Atlantis

SUMMARY:
Are you an experienced physically fit Diesel Mechanic who can work for a well established company in Atlantis, Western Cape?
You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel-powered vehicles and earth moving equipment.  Applicants who have recently qualified can also be trained for this position.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENTS

Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering.

Valid driver''s license

Aptitude for mathematics and science

Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components

Good IT and diagnostic skills

Physically fit

Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools

Attention to detail

Good interpersonal skills

Excellent verbal communication skills

Good organization skills

DUTIES

Running diagnostic tests on vehicles

Fault finding

Analysing diagnostic test results

Repairing and replacing of engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions & braking systems

Check vehicle lighting systems

test driving vehicles to gauge performance

Maintain detailed records of the vehicles they have serviced.

Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks

Maintenance of detailed records of serviced vehicles

Adhering to inspection procedure checklist

Maintain a parts inventory

Ensuring a clean workstation is maintained

Salary:  negotiable dependent on experience
