Diesel Mechanic

SUMMARY:
An exploration drilling company currently requires a Red Seal Diesel Mechanic in Mokopane to ensure the maintenance and ad hoc repairs to the company’s fleet of drill rigs and vehicles.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Red Seal
Diesel Engines (Cummins, John Deere & CAT)
Exploration Drills (Atlas Copco / Sandvik)
Able to read and interpret hydraulic diagrams
3+ years’ work experience on heavy earthmoving machinery or surface drilling machinery
Previous experience on mine advantageous
Able to work pay weekend structure (on site – full time – Mon – Sat) – off five days at month end
Literate
Able to communicate in English or Afrikaans
Competent to use all tools and equipment effectively and in a safe manner
Declared fit to work on a Mine
Must be fit to obtain a medical certificate of fitness
Working experience of at least 3 – 5 years on a Drill Rig
Honest & reliable
Good time keeping & attendance
Preference will be given to residents of the Mokopane / Mapela / host community area
