SUMMARY:
An opportunity exists for a Diesel Mechanic with a client based in East London.
POSITION INFO:
Duties include:
- Repairs to fleet of fuel tankers and trailers.
- Daily inspections.
- Prep for Roadworthy inspection.
- Safe loading prep and repairs.
- Knowledge of MAN, Mercedes Benz and Scania trucks.
- Servicing of trucks and trailers.
- Standby.
- Afterhours and weekend work if and when needed.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and ensure fleet is kept in optimal condition.
- Basic electrical knowledge, repairs to lights etc. Basic fault finding.
- Team player.
- Completion of job cards.
Requirements:
- Qualified diesel mechanic
- Code 14 drivers license with PDP, dangerous goods will be advantageous
- Clean criminal record
- Experience on fuel tankers/trailers
- Own tools required
- Matric certificate
- Knowledge on fuel sensors, valves and fuel delivery system will be advantageous
- Preferably a none smoker
- Computer literacy
- Punctual and good communication skills
- Honest and trustworthy
- Sober habits
- Knowledge of Merc Star diagnostic system
