Die Corrector

SUMMARY:
Our client based in Olifantsfontein within the aluminium industry requires a qualified Die Corrector with a minimum of 2 years' experience in extrusion production and will be responsible for servicing the press tooling and for optimum press performance, trialling and correcting new dies which allow the successful cost-effective extrusion of products to meet customer requirements. A tertiary qualification or degree in engineering is essential.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure die and press tooling are maintained to a high degree of accuracy so they perform to meet planned press outputs.
• Provide information on the die preparation process that will affect production.
• Ensure data input at all entry points are accurate and of a high standard.
• Polishes, grinds and files dies to make corrections.
• Visually inspects dies for damage and wear.
• Maintain the Epics & Tooling System.
• Troubleshoot/correct all problem dies.
• Measures and records any changes made to the die in epics and on the part print.
• Discretion and respect for confidential information.
• Handling the mail and ensuring the office stationery storage unit is well stocked.
• Organising and storing paperwork and computer-based information.

• A Valid Matric.
• Degree or tertiary qualification in engineering or associated discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years in extrusion production.

• Sound knowledge of the aluminium extrusion operation.
• Tool & Die experience.
• Epics experience.
• Able to use measuring tools.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to use inspection tools (mics, gages, protractors, etc.).
• Ability to learn and apply new tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive, professional manner.
