DevOps Tech Lead

Our client, leading in the fin-tech industry is looking for a DevOps Tec Lead to join their Cape Town team. This candidate is driven by technology and motivated to innovate, comfortable with taking the lead and setting the technical direction.

Responsibilities:

• You have mastered the fundamentals and have had extensive hands-on experience with advanced technical subjects. You have an appreciation for both the theoretical and practical, actively practising ongoing learning. You know what the industry best practices are, how to implement them and drive the application and enforcement of them in the team
• Tech leads are co-authors of our technical roadmaps, they have input in our direction and the responsibility to ensure we are undertaking the correct initiatives to support our business. As a tech lead, you will engage with various stakeholders to ensure that we deliver on business requirements while also advancing our technical strategy
• As a technical expert you will take on complex and challenging work items. You are capable of performing a thorough analysis of the requirement, unpacking the complexity and architecting solutions which are secure, scalable, simple and maintainable
• Be a pioneer, help drive our innovation and chart our course with iterative improvement. Proactively assess our current frameworks, strategies, and plans. Drive innovation and experimentation, identifying areas for improvement or new yet unexplored opportunities

Requirements:

• Degree in computer science or business information systems ideal, but solid experience will be considered as well.
• Experienced with Microsoft Azure and DevOps
• Experienced with Infrastructure as Code
• Experienced with Configuration Management
• Experienced with High Availability deployment
• Experienced with build pipelines and CI/CD in general
• Experienced with Team City & Octopus Deploy
• Experienced with Artefact management using Nuget
• Experienced with relational database design and Microsoft SQL
• Experienced using a scripting language such as Powershell, Bash, etc.
• Experienced with REST APIs, JSON and the underlying protocols (HTTP/S, TCP/IP), and familiarity with CDN services
• Experienced with version control (Git) and a good understanding of branching and merging
• Experienced with monitoring tools like Redgate SQL Monitor, Zabbix, etc.
• Experienced with Windows Server and IIS
