DevOps Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in Umhlanga is looking for a DevOps Manager who is a team player and is technologically skilled engineer.

POSITION INFO:
EMPLOYMENT TYPE      :           PERMANENT

DUTIES:

• Work with DevOps Engineers, Developers and IT staff to maintain and improve the platform infrastructure
• Build a DevOps culture that emphasises collaboration and communication with software developers and IT Operations
• Improve IT productivity through automating the processes of software delivery and infrastructure management
• Provide technical solutions and support for all IT technologies and environments
• Implement systems and platform enhancements to meet OT strategic transformation needs, with specific focus on the requirements of the software platforms and development teams
• Rapidly diagnose and resolve technical faults with organisation-wide hardware and software services
• Co-management of software build and configuration management infrastructure
• Comfortable with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
• Participate and lead Architecture and technology design and selection sessions as needed

 
REQUIREMENT:

• BSc Computer Science & Electronic Engineering
• Comm Business Information Systems Degree
• High quality Technikon Diploma
• 8 years’ experience in IT
• Experience with VMWare / AWS / KVM /Ansible / Rundeck / Puppet / Chef and virtualization
• Experience in system administration (essential)
• Knowledge of the ELK stack and Nginx web servers
• Use of distributed source control tools like GIT
