POSITION INFO:

DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help build, test and maintain the infrastructure and tools to allow for the speedy development and release of software. Through collaboration with the Software Engineers and the IT staff, you will be combining your understanding of both engineering and software development processes. You will form an integral part in our software way of working and development processes.

Your role:

• Design and maintain continuous deployment pipelines using Jenkins and handle the integration with the other development environment tools.
• Establish an agile software development environment covering continuous integration, continuous reviewing, continuous testing, continuous delivery and continuous deployment.
• Design and maintain a problem reporting system in Jira that keep track of problems experienced during development of hardware, software, test benches and mechanics.
• Collaborating with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices.
• Set-up, manage and maintain a LDAP server/database used for user authentication on all development environment tools.
• Set-up, manage and maintain a Request Tracker (RT) ticketing system used for Obsolescence Management, Design & Baseline Preservation and Test Bench Support.
• Set-up, manage and maintain a mail server used to automate the Obsolescence Management LTB notification process.
• Providing direct server support during various operations such as deployment, licensing, license server maintenance and general production.
• Configure, maintain and store images of build environments.
• Perform script development, maintenance and updates.
• Assist in developing roadmap for DevOps environment and way of working.
• Learn and gather new technologies and related tools to introduce to the company in order to grow the agile development environment.
• Report generating and building dashboards for DevOps (Wordpress).
• Assist in maintaining and migrating legacy tools like CVS, SVN, PVCS, YouTrack, VisionProject and Track.

Your profile:

• Minimum five to eight years of relevant experience
• Must be self-sufficient
• Have a well-structured/organised work method
• Must be thorough and quality orientated
• Must also be a team player who has pride in what he/she does.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Understanding of Major DevOps Tools
• Software Security Skills
• Command of Automation Technologies & Tools
• Coding & Scripting Skills
• Testing Skills

Practical Experience Required:

• Agile, Scrum, DevOps, Continuous Integration experience
• Proven experience and success in Linux/Unix administration
• SQL and MySQL

Qualification:

• B. Eng (Computer Engineering) or Computer Science Degree or related
