Job Summary
A Despatch and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound goods in the warehouse. This role ensures the timely receipt of raw materials and packaging supplies, as well as the proper dispatch of finished goods in compliance with customer requirements, food safety standards, and internal protocols. The supervisor coordinates with logistics, warehouse, and production teams to maintain smooth material flow, minimize delays, and support operational targets in our fastpaced FMCG environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the receipt of raw materials, packaging materials, and other inbound goods.
2. Verify delivery documents (invoices, GRVs, picking lists, Delivery notes, Bill of ladings) against actual quantities received or dispatched.
3. Coordinate with quality and inventory teams for acceptance or rejection of materials.
4. Plan and supervise dispatch activities based on daily shipping schedules and customer orders.
5. Ensure accurate picking, staging, and loading of finished goods.
6. Check all outgoing and incoming shipments for correct product, quantity, quality and documentation.
7. Prepare finished goods in picking sheds to ensure seamless dispatches.
8. Verification of QR codes, drivers’ licenses and vehicle details before loading.
9. Verification of stock against invoice and during the loading process.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
Matric and any additional tertiary qualification will be preferable.
Diploma or certificate in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Management.
3–5 years of experience in dispatch and receiving supervision within an FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Proficient in ERP or warehouse management systems (Sage and MS Excel).
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of food safety practices, warehouse operations, and transport coordination.
